Time Out for Parents: Children with Special Needs
Time Out for Parents - Children with Special Needs was written with the help of many parents of children with special or additional needs. The course is for parents of child aged 3 to 11 who have one or more of a variety of disabilities or special needs, particularly those with learning developmental and behavioural difficulties.

Parents with a special or additional needs child face particular challenges:

Standard parenting advice often doesn't work

Other people don't understand what its like

It's easy to feel frustrated and isolated
The course aims to help you explore ideas and find out what works for you - not what's meant to work! The course aims to:

increase your confidence in your skills and abilities as a parent

help the relationship between you and your child be better
-
teach you skills to help you raise your children's self-esteem
-
identify the best way to effectively discipline your child
-
encourage everyone on the course to give each other mutual support
-
give you the tools help you in your relationship with your child's other parent or carer
-
provide you with greater support where you would like it.
