2nd Barnehurst Rainbows

Rainbows provides a valuable girl-only environment where girls can really be themselves and have fun! We follow a programme called the Rainbow Jigsaw, which involves a wide range of activities and games. Being a Rainbow is all about learning, developing self-confidence, building friendships and, of course, having lots of fun! The Rainbow Jigsaw has four areas: Look, Learn, Laugh, Love.

Girlguiding UK is the United Kingdom's largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women, with around half a million members including about 100,000 trained volunteer adult Leaders. Rainbows welcome girls into the Girlguiding UK family with a “Promise Party” when they are enrolled as Rainbows and celebrate their achievements with a “Pot of Gold Party” when they reach the end of the rainbow and move on to Brownies.

2nd Barnehurst Rainbows have a busy and varied programme including games, crafts, challenges, and working towards badges. They also take part in events with the other units in the district, such as the Rainbow Disco, Rainbow Badge Day, and a visit to the Erith Playhouse to see the annual pantomime. On special occasions they sometimes have meetings outside of the meeting place, for example to go bowling.
