Hurst Horticultural Society

Our society is very much geared to the local community, so please come along and give us a try.

- Bob Baker, Session Leader -

H.H.S is a local gardening community, run by volunteers, selling all types of garden equipment, plants, pesticides, fertilisers and composts. The group offers advice and guidance on most garden problems and projects in an informal and friendly manner. They also stock some household products such as fabric conditioners, limescale removers, disinfectants, salt, drain cleaners etc. The large car park at Hurst enables the group to deliver heavy items to the boot of your vehicle. The society stages several social functions every year including two quiz nights which are held in the main hall of the Centre. Two trips to a botanical garden and a south coast seaside resort are also arranged. The group also stage a very informal summer show for members to show the vegetables and flowers they have grown through the season and they can win small prizes to reward their efforts.
